1986
Dr. Fred Kahn, a surgeon, injures his shoulder in a skiing accident. Aware of the shortcomings and challenges of surgical repair for this condition, he experiments with Low Intensity Laser Therapy utilizing a primitive European device. Almost instantly, he obtained pain relief and with continuing treatment, restoration of a normal range of motion of the shoulder was achieved. This induces Dr. Kahn to explore the possibility of developing more sophisticated, accurate and reliable laser devices for a wider range of clinical applications.

1989
Meditech International Incorporated is founded by Dr. Kahn and proceeds to develop a series of “proof of concept devices" at Ryerson Universityt systems. These include units for use by Healthcare professionals and models for use by patients i.e. the home market.

1992
Meditech International Incorporated is registered as an Ontario corporation.

1990-2000
The BioFlex Laser Therapy System is developed at Ryerson Polytechnic University and the Centre of Advanced Technology (CATE) in Toronto, Canada under the direction of Dr. Kahn and a team of consultants.

1993
Initial Meditech Clinic opens adjacent to the laboratory at Ryerson University for the treatment of medical conditions which had not been resolved by conventional methods.

2000
Meditech corporate headquarters and the Laser Rehabilitation Centre relocate from Ryerson University to a freestanding facility at 411 Horner Avenue in Etobicoke, Ontario.  Since that event, the location has become the most extensive Laser Therapy Clinic in North America with up to 800 treatments administered on a weekly basis.

2006
A second Meditech Laser Rehabilitation Centre opens in Downtown Toronto.

2010
Meditech Laser Rehabilitation Centre relocated to its current location at 181 University Avenue (Hilton Hotel).
